That Santa is a tricky fellow…
After all how many of us have actually seen him in action?
He sneaks into houses undetected, leaving goodies as he goes. Kids are constantly told that if you are not asleep he won’t leave you anything! So eager little legs run off to bed, anticipating what the jolly man in red is going to leave them in their stockings and under the Christmas Tree.
If you are a sneaky kid, you lie awake, pretending to be asleep, just so you can catch a glimpse of him as he goes about his Christmas mission of delivering presents to children all over the world….it never works though and before you know it you have fallen asleep quite convinced that you heard some thumping from up on the roof!
Although kids are actually unable to see Santa in action (after all he is very busy right at the moment) there are ways that you can keep on eye on his progress and see exactly what he is up to each day.
Air Services Australia has the very important job of directing Santa through Australian airspace on his big night. But before that some important things have to take place. Santa has to check his flight plan, be assigned a call sign and his sleigh has to be double and triple checked. You can check out these and his other preparations on the Air Services Australia website and also watch him as he makes his journey around the world.
NorthPole.com is another great way to see what Santa is up to, there are great activities. You can send Santa a letter and he will actually write back, printables and colouring in activities, chat with Santas Elves and enjoy the Christmas countdown.
Claus.com is apparently the “merriest place on the internet”, check your naughty and nice rating, have your own Elf buddy, play games in the Elf school, great Christmas recipes and visit the amazing Toy Workshop.
Netmums.com is showing a way that you can actually see Santa fly overhead on his great journey (keep these detail a bit secret) but with a bit of timing you may actually see him on his travels.
So these are some great ways to enjoy Christmas Eve with your kids, keep them busy and out of your hair while you deal with all those last minute preparations.
Don’t forget to leave the milk and biccies (or a beer, it’s too hot in Australia to leave milk out!) and a couple of carrots for Rudolph..
Merry Christmas from all the Barbies!!
