Do You Live With A “Manscaper”

Parents of girls know what the daily fight in the bathroom is like. Quadruple that and that’s what the daily fight for the bathroom is like with 4 girls!
There are fights over hair straighteners and fights over blow dryers. Someone is using someone else’s face wash or deoderant, not to mention that there is never any conditioner left!
When I write my shopping list for the week, inevitably along with my beauty products and those of my older girls, Mr Barbie also adds his to the list.
There are vitamins, mens daily fragrances (all with different scents) and body and face washes, amongst other things.
You know I quite love the fact that Mr Barbie takes pride in his appearance.
He has always had quite a youthful look about him, but as we both get older, you can definitely notice the benefits of a bit of maintenance, compared to men who just let nature takes its course (not that there’s anything wrong with that)..
And lets face it as we get older that maintenance gets more and more time consuming.
When he was younger, it was always just assumed by people that did not know him, that he was gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that). However he did have a (female)wife and kids waiting for him at home…
Why is it that men who are meticulous about their grooming are assumed to be gay? Maybe just maybe, they take pride in their appearance.
I like the fact that Mr Barbie is a “manscaper or metro-sexual”. I like the fact that my girls get to see their Dad as someone who takes pride in his appearance and someone who wants to create a good impression.
I like the fact that my girls get to see someone each day who respects himself and has pride in himself.
Yes, physical appearances are only skin deep, and yes it is important to teach them, that what is on the inside is far more important.
But we can’t deny that when we look good, we also feel good on the inside.
Us gals derive enjoyment over pampering ourselves every now and again..why should men be any different?
